Wood Veneer Description
Chestnut is grown in the Western and Southern parts of Southern Europe.
The heartwood is Yellow to dark Brown and the texture is fairly coarse. The woods growth rings are made conspicuous by several rows of large, distinct pores at the beginning of each years growth.
The Chestnut is smoked or fumed by treating them with ammonia. This changes the woods colour so you get a lovely aged dark Brown to Blackish colour.
Please be aware that width measurements are taken from the middle part of the sheet. This means that the width may taper below or above the stated measurement so please allow for an extra few cm or get in contact for exact measurements.
