Move over ‘black and white!’
Historically used as an interior colour scheme, black and white continues to be as popular as ever!
It was the Art Déco movement of the 1930’s that saw the popularity of this striking colour combination soar and it has remained a firm favourite ever since. However, in more recent years the trend for this impactful colour combination has given rise to grey.
Often thought of as the new black, grey offers a sophisticated and more subtle, yet still very avant garde interior colour combination.
Whilst it is certainly a softer colourway, many monochromatic interior living spaces can still tend to look clinical and cold.
Using a contrasting accent colour is a great way to break up a predominantly monochromatic colour scheme, as is the introduction of texture.
Texture will allow you to still keep to a single colour scheme of greys and black shades along with white, but it will soften the overall feel. It can be introduced via furnishings, upholstery, throws or rugs, but these are all soft materials.
When it comes to adding texture to a large surface area or updating furniture, consider using on-trend wooden wall panelling or beautiful wood veneer.
Distinctive in appearance, every panel or piece of wood veneer features a unique detailed grain and a multitude of tone on tone shades, which add to the tactile appeal of each surface.
Our ‘Grey Tulipwood’ coloured veneer offers a real wood surface that is sure to transform a piece of unloved furniture into a modern, monochromatic statement.
Likewise, our ‘Lithocarpus Crown Stone Oak’ and ‘Olea Quarter Olive Wood’, both from our CubeFlex range are soft smoky greys, with underlying taupe shades.
Being totally flexible, this range is ideal for a wood veneer novice, as it will easily bend and shape to virtually any contour.
But, if you’re after a product to transform a walls’ surface, our TimberStik wall panelling range will do just that, both quickly and easily too! With a pre-applied adhesive backing strip, a wall can be updated in a matter of hours!
The choice of our wall panelling and wood veneer finishes doesn’t just stop there.
Our search facility allows you to view by colour, so if you’re after a monochromatic scheme, simply choose to search by grey, black or white, and start planning how you’re going to update your interior space today!
