Collection: Wood Wall Panelling

Interior wood wall panelling from the Wood Veneer Hub is authentic, distinct, and modern. Made from responsibly sourced materials, all of our wood panels are carefully crafted by experts. We’re passionate about wood, art, and nature, and we strive to bring these values forward in the wood panelling sheets we produce.

Common questions

Wood wall panelling is what walls become when you stop thinking of them as flat surfaces. Real timber, cut into slats, planks, or panels, and fitted to a wall to bring grain, depth, and warmth into a room. WVH® panelling comes in real oak, walnut, smoked oak, and birch. Some ranges are mounted on recycled acoustic felt to soften sound. Some are solid timber for pure visual character. A wood-panelled wall behaves differently to a painted one. Light catches the grain. Sound softens. The room feels considered.

Acoustic panelling is built to absorb sound. Real wood slats over a recycled-felt backing. The felt does the acoustic work, the wood does the visual. Acupanel® sits in this category, with measurable sound-absorption performance. Decorative wood panelling is wood without the felt: planks, fluted boards, mosaics, exterior cladding. Same warmth, no acoustic engineering. Both change how a wall feels. Only one quietens a room.

Anywhere a wall is asked to do more than hold paint. Living rooms behind a sofa or a fireplace. Bedrooms behind a headboard. Hallways where the first impression lands. Acoustic panelling is particularly good in spaces where conversation matters: dining rooms, snugs, home offices, listening rooms. For bathrooms and kitchens, where real timber would warp, the answer is Acupanel® Hydro. The format suits the space. We help you choose the right one.

The method depends on the range. Acupanel® mounts with construction adhesive to a sound, dry, dust-free wall, with screws through the felt at the top and bottom for a permanent fix. Battens are an option where the wall is uneven. Plaank® always screws into battens. The exterior application and the panel weight rule out adhesive on its own. Each panel has its own install guide, downloadable spec, and a sample option on the site. If you're unsure which method suits your wall, order a sample and our team will talk you through it.

Measure the wall: width and height in metres. Multiply for the area. Add 10% to allow for cuts and waste. Each panel listing shows its coverage in square metres. Divide your wall area by the pack coverage, round up to the next whole pack. The coverage calculator on each panel does this for you when you enter your wall dimensions. If you're not panelling around a window or door, subtract that area before you start.

Yes, with the right product. Real timber expands and contracts with humidity, so a steamed-up bathroom or a kitchen with regular splashes isn't the place for solid oak. Acupanel® Hydro is built for these rooms: a wood-effect surface on a moisture-resistant core, with the same slat profile as our real-wood ranges. The look of timber. The behaviour of a tile. For a feature wall behind a bath, a kitchen island, or a splashback, Hydro is the panel that holds.

Most are, yes. Acupanel®, Flutto®, and our decorative plank ranges are real timber: oak, walnut, smoked oak, birch. Sourced from species we've worked with for 50 years. The one deliberate exception is Acupanel® Hydro, which is a wood-effect surface designed for wet rooms where real timber would warp. Each panel's listing tells you which is which. The grain on a Hydro panel is engineered to match the real-wood ranges so a kitchen and a living room can read as one home.

Yes. We send physical samples for every range. They arrive in a few days, and they tell you what a screen never can: how the grain catches morning light. How the timber feels under your hand. Whether the tone of the oak you've chosen sits right with your floor. Order the ones you're between. Hold them up at 8am and at 6pm. Let the room tell you.

Wood wall panelling, fitted in a normal interior, is meant to live with the wall. Real timber takes on a patina over time, deepening in tone, settling into the character of the room around it. It doesn't go out of fashion the way paint colours do. Looked after, it stays.

50+ years in surface materials. Laurence Freed's career in veneer began in the 1970s, and the company he founded in 2000 grew into WVH®. He sourced the species most suppliers couldn't get hold of and learned the differences by hand. Half a century later, we still choose what goes on the walls. We supply architects, interior designers, contractors, and homeowners across the UK. The Drew & Jonathan Home® partnership runs through our acoustic slat range. We photograph every product as accurately as possible. Because we use real wood and natural materials, subtle variations in grain pattern and tone occur between production batches. This is a characteristic of genuine wood, not a defect. We always recommend ordering a sample to confirm the colour and texture in your own lighting.
