Overview

Our luxury, solid MDF Acupanel® Elegance range is the ultimate solution if you are looking for the beautiful slat format without the acoustic properties. Available in a range of wood finishes, it can be easily applied to your surface to create a feature wall or ceiling panel in both domestic or commercial projects.

This panel is purely for decoration and offers no sound absorption. It is made from a natural, real wood veneer finish, and whilst we aim to offer the cleanest veneer possible on these panels, knots and slight cracks may be present in the wood. This only enhances the beauty of the wood, and is a natural part of the slat wood wall panel look.

The Acupanel® Elegance is now available pre-finished! The high-gloss, UV stable oil finish helps to enhance the grain, while protecting the panel long-term. Save yourself time and money by opting for our pre-oiled panels today.

Please call prior to ordering a mix of 120cm, 200cm and 240cm panels, as they may be from different batches, and there may be some colour variation because of this.

Finish Details

Acupanel® is proud to offer the UK’s only fully finished non-acoustic slat panel! It is always advised to finish natural wood to protect it and, more importantly, to make it look even better than it already does. Rather than purchasing a separate tin of oil, save time and money by selecting the finished panel at checkout. You can install it straight on your wall from the box without extra work!

The finish available is a gloss oil professionally applied to give an even coating across the panel.

Please be aware that this is a decorative finish, and does not offer protection against water, humidity, heat or UV light. If the panels will be exposed to any of these elements, we recommend using a finish that protects against it.

Designed for quick and simple installation.

Simply screw the panels straight into the wall, using the correct fixings, through the MDF backing, or use a wall panel hook to install the panels. If installing on ceilings, the panels can be screwed straight into ceiling joists.

 

Acupanel FAQ

How do the panels arrive?

The Acupanel wall panels are shipped in boxes - if more than one panel is ordered, we pack two panels to a box.

Do the panels come in larger sizes?

The panels come in a range of sizes: 120cm x 60cm, 200cm x 60cm and 240cm x 60cm. We have designed them to join both widthways and long ways seamlessly so any length or width can easily be achieved.

How do I install the panels?

We recommend screwing the panels directly into the wall with Black screws through the gaps between the slats.

Do you produce custom panel sizes?

We do not currently offer the panels in custom sizes; however, we have designed them to be easily cut if you need smaller. They also join together seamlessly if you need bigger.

Can the panels be used in a bathroom or kitchen?

The panels will be absolutely fine in these areas, as long as they are not in direct contact with water. We do recommend applying a water-resistant finish to the front of the slats to protect them against any moisture or humidity wherever possible though.

Can the non-acoustic panels be used outside?

The Acupanel range is designed for interior use only.

What do I do if I have plug sockets, windows or other items to install around?

It is straightforward to adjust the panels to fit around any object - they can be cut both width and length ways with a saw, and any edges can easily be sanded down for a smooth finish.

On which surfaces can I install the panels?

You can mount the panels on all surfaces including brick, concrete and plasterboard.

Do the colours of the pictures look like the panels in real life?

The wood used is always from the same source so they will always look more or less the same. It is natural wood, however, so knots, slight cracks and colour variations can occur. Get in touch if you would like us to send you pictures of the exact batch you could potentially receive.

How can I hide the edges of the panel?

The panels are designed to have an edge that looks like it is part of the panel. However, we do offer veneer sheets in a matching finish, which can be used to cover an edge if required.

Can I hide wires behind the panels?

You certainly can!

Are any of your panels FSC Certified?

We have a range of panels available with FSC Certification. Please get in touch if you need any further information on the panels we offer with this certification.

Why should I opt for a finished panel?

It is always advised to finish natural wood to protect it and, more importantly, to make it look even better than it already does. We now offer a decorative satin oil-finished panel for our Contemporary Oak and Contemporary Walnut panels, to take out the hassle of finishing the panels yourself. Please be aware that this is a decorative finish, and does not offer protection against water, humidity, heat or UV light. If the panels will be exposed to any of these elements, we recommend using a finish that protects against it.

Do you deliver the panels?

We do, and we offer free delivery to mainland UK for the Acupanel range! You are also welcome to collect directly from our warehouse.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused Acupanels within 30 days after delivery.
