Mahogany Crotch Wood Veneer
Wood Veneer Description
The crotch veneer is produced from the upper part of the trunk where it forks in direction. The block is sliced in a very slow method to give a uniform cut. The veneer appears either as a swirly pattern or as a feather effect known in the trade as a rat’s tail effect.
This veneer rarely comes in big lengths due to the part of the tree cut to produce this veneer. A common use of the veneer, especially in high end furniture is to book match the veneer leaves in order to get a very striking and wonderful contrast.
Please be aware that width measurements are taken from the middle part of the sheet. This means that the width may taper below or above the stated measurement so please allow for an extra few cm or get in contact for exact measurements.
