LVT Flooring FAQ

How do the flooring packs arrive?

The WVH® flooring range comes pre-packed in your selected box size.

Do the flooring planks come in larger sizes?

The flooring planks themselves do not come in longer lengths, but can be joined together with ease to cover a larger area.

Can I order custom pack sizes?

We can only supply the flooring in the pre-made pack sizes available.

How do I calculate how many packs I will need?

We recommend measuring the length and width of the space you are looking to cover, to find the area of your space. We advise adding an additional 10% to this figure, to allow for any cut-downs that may be required. Our pricing is per pack, so please double-check the pack size before ordering, to ensure you have enough to cover your area.

What is the difference between laminate flooring, and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring?

Our luxury vinyl tile (LVT) range combines the high-end quality of smooth flooring with the rustic look and feel of real wood flooring. Made up of layers, including a thicker top wear layer, this floor covering is durable, whilst remaining cost-effective compared to real wood flooring.

Our laminate flooring is similar, combining a wood-print with an embossed wear layer, to bring the look and feel of real wood flooring to your home. With an interlocking tongue and groove installation method, laminate flooring is the go-to option for DIY enthusiasts quickly looking to revitalise their floor.

How do I cut my flooring?

It’s easy to cut your laminate and luxury vinyl tile flooring. For your laminate flooring, simply cut as required with a sharp blade, and sand off any excess. For the LVT floor covering, score where you need to cut with a sharp utility knife and snap to break off the excess. Use your knife to trim off any excess as required.

How do I install my laminate flooring?

Our Click and Lock system makes installing your new laminate flooring easy! See our technical sheet for a full step-by-step guide to fit your flooring. Ensure you have prepared your subfloor before fitting your flooring - we strongly recommend speaking with a tradesperson, who can advise on the best flooring preparation in your home.

Can I use the flooring in a bathroom or kitchen?

You can use laminate and LVT flooring in both areas as long as they are not exposed to excessive heat or moisture, with the LVT being better suited for bathrooms. To prevent early and excessive wear, we recommend speaking with a builder or tradesperson to advise on the best underlays, adhesives, and installation method for these higher-moisture areas.

How do I clean my laminate flooring?

Your laminate flooring is simple to maintain. A light sweep or hoover will clean up most debris on a daily basis. You can also use a damp cloth with a non-abrasive cleaning solution to clean up tougher marks, and we recommend cleaning up any spills with an absorbent cloth straight away. Avoid using excessive amounts of water when cleaning, as this can damage the floor over time. Do not steam clean.

Which surfaces can I install the flooring on?

You can install the laminate and LVT floor coverings on most surfaces! We recommend speaking with a trade professional to ensure there is an adequate subfloor prior to installation, to prevent excessive early wear and tear.

Can I use the flooring outside?

Our flooring range is designed for interior use only.

Can I use the flooring in a commercial environment?

Of course! Our flooring range boasts a 20-year residential guarantee, with a minimum of 5 years warranty for commercial premises. More warranty information can be found on the flooring data sheets.

Will the flooring improve the acoustics in my home?

Our flooring will not improve the acoustics in your space on its own, but when installed with an acoustically rated underlay, they can! See our range of flooring accessories, including our acoustic-rated underlays, here.

Can I oil or refinish the flooring once installed?

Most oil and finishing products are designed for real wood flooring. A diluted version of some oils can be used on laminate flooring, but we recommend a patch test before refinishing your whole floor. Not suitable for LVTs.

Do you deliver the flooring?

We do, and we offer free delivery to the mainland UK! You are also welcome to collect directly from our warehouse.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused flooring packs within 30 days after delivery.
