Wood Veneer Description
Sourced from Africa, Padouk is a very unusual veneer with striking colour features. It is usually a lustrious coral Red to Reddish Brown. Padouk polishes up very well due to its texture and colour. It also sands very easily. It is recommended that any finish used should contain an ultraviolet inhibitor to reduce any chance of darkening as the veneer has a tendency to do this.
Please be aware that width measurements are taken from the middle part of the sheet. This means that the width may taper below or above the stated measurement so please allow for an extra few cm or get in contact for exact measurements.

I've been asked to veneer my mates wife's Jewelry box In padouk. I've worked with this veneer before, very easy to work with and has a "Beautiful glass finish" I recommended to anyone that's never used this wood to buy it, you will not be disappointed 👍
I bought a selection of veneers in different timbers to have a go at doing some marquetry images, using a small laser cutter to shape the pieces. The veneers were delivered safely, rolled up in a box. They all unrolled into nice long, undamaged veneer sheets. I was able to cut off rectangular sections and glue them down to pieces of 1.5mm plywood, to keep them flat enough to work with. They all cut beautifully on my small Chinese laser cutter and assembled into the image I was trying to create. If I can work out how to post images, I'll show you my initial results. The quality of the veneers and their packaging were excellent. The time from ordering to delivery was just under a week, which was more than acceptable. I will no doubt order more in the future once I get through my initial stock.
