Acupanel® is a beautifully designed wood strip decorative wall and ceiling panel which boasts high-quality acoustic properties. The panels can be easily applied to walls and ceilings, be it for domestic or commercial use. Modern styling personified in every way.

The Acupanel® Standard range is produced with a quality, smooth engineered wood veneer finish, designed to have a consistent grain finish. Lamella strips with a clean, modern appearance are mounted onto a uniquely designed, recycled acoustic felt material. Fast and simple installation allows you to quickly transform any space.

Our Acupanel® Premium range is the next step in luxury wood wall panelling. Featuring a real wood veneer finish, this panel range celebrates the natural textures and grain patterns you find in nature. Incorporate the beauty of real wood into your home today with our Premium range offering. If you're looking to oil the panels yourself, we strongly recommend opting for this panel, to have the most consistent oiled finish.

Why not elevate your space further, and opt for our Acupanel® Premium Oiled range. We are proud to offer the UK’s only fully finished acoustic slat wood wall and ceiling panel, removing the need to do this yourself. You can install it straight on your wall from the box, with no extra work needed!

Please call prior to ordering a mix of different sized panels, as they may be from different batches, and there may be some colour variation because of this.

Finish Details

Acupanel® is proud to offer the UK’s only fully finished acoustic slat panel! Our standard panel is not suitable for oiling, as the engineered wood can result in an uneven finish. Opt for the pre-finished premium oiled panel to save time and money. Install straight from the box without extra work!

Each panel is professionally coated with a satin oil finish for a smooth, even appearance.

Please be aware that this is a decorative finish, and does not offer protection against water, humidity, heat or UV light. If the panels will be exposed to any of these elements, we recommend using a finish that protects against it.

If you are looking to oil the panels yourself, we strongly recommend oiling the Acupanel® Premium panels, to enhance the grain and give the best finish.

Installation & Downloads

The Acupanel® range has been designed to be installed with ease. We recommend either screwing the panels straight into the wall, using the correct fixings, through the acoustic felt or if you are looking to increase the sound properties further, screwing them into batons. If installing on ceilings, the panels can be screwed straight into ceiling joists.

When cutting your panels, it's important to check where you are cutting in relation to the backing staples. If you cut the panels close to the staples, you may notice some slats lifting away from the backing where the panel has been cut. This is completely normal and is quickly rectified by adding additional staples through the backing felt or using a grab adhesive on the back of the slats.

Our most frequently asked questions.

How do I install the panels?

Our panels are easy to install. If you want a class A sound absorption, we recommend installing the panels with battens. If you're going to use them for decorative purposes only, we recommend screwing the panels directly into the wall through the acoustic felt backing using colour screws.

Where can the panels be installed?

The Acupanel® panels are incredibly versatile. They can be installed on walls and ceilings, in living rooms, bedrooms, home offices, and commercial gyms - the list is endless! They can also be installed in kitchens and bathrooms, as long as they are not in direct contact with water. We’ve even seen our customers use the panels in campervan renovations.

How do I cut the panels?

The panels are simple to cut to size! You can use a sharp, fine-tooth saw to cut the panels. We recommend sanding down the cut edges of the panel for a smooth edge finish. Did you know we offer a panel cutting service? Give our Customer Care team a call today to find out more.

Do you offer custom panel sizes?

Our panels are available in a range of sizes to cater to most projects. We also offer a custom size cutting service. Speak to our Customer Care team today for more information on our cutting service.

What materials are the panels made from?

Our Acupanel® Acoustic Wood panels are made from premium, high-quality materials. We use recycled acoustic felt for the backing, with sustainably sourced, veneered MDF slats attached to the felt. Simple, sustainable design.

Acupanel® FAQ

How do the panels arrive?

The Acupanel® wall panels are shipped in boxes - if more than one panel is ordered, we pack two panels to a box.

Do the panels come in larger sizes?

All of our panels are available in a 240cm x 60cm size, with a selection of our panels are available in 300cm x 60cm and 360cm x 60cm sizes. Our new 120cm and 200cm shorter panels are also available in select finishes.

How do I install the panels?

If you are looking to obtain a class A sound absorption, then we recommend installing the panels with batons. However, if you would like to have them for decorative purposes while still providing some sound absorption, we recommend screwing the panels directly into the wall through the acoustic felt backing using Black or Grey screws, depending on your choice of backing.

Do you produce custom panel sizes?

We do not currently offer the panels in custom sizes; however, we have designed them to be easily cut if you need smaller. They also join together seamlessly if you need bigger.

Can the panels be used in a bathroom or kitchen?

The panels will be absolutely fine in these areas, as long as they are not in direct contact with water. We do recommend applying a water-resistant finish to the front of the slats to protect them against any moisture or humidity wherever possible though.

Can the acoustic panels be used outside?

The Acupanel® Acoustic range is designed for interior use only.

What do I do if I have plug sockets, windows or other items to install around?

It is straightforward to adjust the panels to fit around any object. You can cut the slats widthways with a saw, and you can cut the felt lengthways with a sharp blade to then apply around any item you may have on your surface.

On which surfaces can I install the panels?

You can mount the panels on all surfaces including brick, concrete and plasterboard.

What is an engineered veneer?

Engineered wood veneer is a man-made veneer, created by layering thin slices of natural wood veneer into a block, and slicing it to create a new grain pattern. It offers a cost-effective, consistent and sustainabe finish compared to solid wood veneer. It's favored for its stability and consistency in appearance, and suitability for various interior applications such as furniture, cabinetry, and wall coverings.

Do the colours of the pictures look like the panels in real life?

The wood used is always from the same source so they will always look more or less the same. It is natural wood, however, so knots, slight cracks and colour variations can occur. Get in touch if you would like us to send you pictures of the exact batch you could potentially receive.

How can I hide the edges of the panel?

The panels have been designed to have the edge exposed. When cutting through the slats they are black throughout so an edge will always look like the rest of the panels

Can I hide wires behind the panels?

You certainly can!

Can I apply anything behind the panels to increase sound insulation?

If installing with batons, then you can use mineral wool or other sound insulation material in-between the gaps which will increase the sound absorption properties even more.

Why should I opt for a finished panel?

Finishing natural wood is always recommended—not only for protection but also to enhance its beauty. To save you the hassle of finishing the panels yourself, we now offer a decorative satin oil finish for our Contemporary Oak and Contemporary Walnut panels.

Please note that this is a decorative finish and does not provide protection against water, humidity, heat, or UV light. If the panels will be exposed to any of these elements, we recommend applying a protective finish.

For those who prefer to oil the panels themselves, we strongly recommend using the Acupanel® Premium panels, as they allow you to enhance the wood grain while achieving the best finish.

Do you deliver the panels?

We do, and we offer free delivery to mainland UK for the Acupanel® range! You are also welcome to collect directly from our warehouse.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused Acupanel® panels within 30 days after delivery.
