Acupanel is a beautifully designed wood strip decorative wall and ceiling panel which boasts high-quality acoustic properties. The panels can be easily applied to walls and ceilings, be it for domestic or commercial use. Modern styling personified in every way.

The contemporary Acupanel range is produced with a luxury quality, smooth wood veneer finish. Lamella strips with a clean, modern appearance are mounted onto a uniquely designed, recycled acoustic felt material. Fast and simple installation allows you to quickly transform any space.

Please call prior to ordering a mix of different sized panels, as they may be from different batches, and there may be some colour variation because of this.

Please note: From April 2024 the panels have a slightly different shading, if you purchased before this date and want to continue your project please contact customer service.

Installation & Downloads

The Acupanel range has been designed to be installed with ease. We recommend either screwing the panels straight into the wall, using the correct fixings, through the acoustic felt or if you are looking to increase the sound properties further, screwing them into batons. If installing on ceilings, the panels can be screwed straight into ceiling joists.

When cutting your panels, it's important to check where you are cutting in relation to the backing staples. If you cut the panels close to the staples, you may notice some slats lifting away from the backing where the panel has been cut. This is completely normal and is quickly rectified by adding additional staples through the backing felt or using a grab adhesive on the back of the slats.

Great touch

Panels arrive in great quality, and on time. Easy to fit and adds that touch of luxury to any DIY project. Acoustic properties add to the soundproofing of the house. Also good if you need a classy inspection panel. Only watch out is that if you have to cut perpendicular to the struts, make sure you do it in a well ventilated area that is easy to clean up, as the dust generated from the smoked oak is rather fine, black and persistent (just ask my wife). Very happy with the product.

Living room glow up

10.10! I've used products from VWH for a few projects around my home over the years but my latest project is the most dramatic with a 6m long wall covered top to bottom using 2.4 x 60 panels.

Looks beautiful. Simple to fit single handed 57yr female. Propped up to correct hight for securing to wall using bits of wood blocks and planks. Has muffled sound from next door brilliantly. It used to sound like they were sat in the room with me. Now acceptable low incomprehensible mumbles. Ahh bliss. I did put acoustic putty inside my double wall socket and added a spacer to the wall socket to bring it more flush out to the new level of the wall panels. Got it from screwfix for less than 2 quid. Turn sockets off at mains. No wiring or rewiring needed. Unscrew faceplate and sort of ‘post’ it thru this rectangle shaped spacer and refit. I got a black spacer which goes with my smoked oak panels. Only did 2/3 of my wall in these panels which looks awesome and has still dulled enough noise for me to forget the neighbours and relax. Very very happy and anxiety / rage at noise has reduced to zero. Posting 4 weeks after completion

Acupanel FAQ

How do the panels arrive?

The Acupanel wall panels are shipped in boxes - if more than one panel is ordered, we pack two panels to a box.

Do the panels come in larger sizes?

All of our panels are available in a 240cm x 60cm size, with a selection of our panels are available in 300cm x 60cm and 360cm x 60cm sizes.

How do I install the panels?

If you are looking to obtain a class A sound absorption, then we recommend installing the panels with batons. However, if you would like to have them for decorative purposes while still providing some sound absorption, we recommend screwing the panels directly into the wall through the acoustic felt backing using Black or Grey screws, depending on your choice of backing.

Do you produce custom panel sizes?

We do not currently offer the panels in custom sizes; however, we have designed them to be easily cut if you need smaller. They also join together seamlessly if you need bigger.

Can the panels be used in a bathroom or kitchen?

The panels will be absolutely fine in these areas, as long as they are not in direct contact with water. We do recommend applying a water-resistant finish to the front of the slats to protect them against any moisture or humidity wherever possible though.

Can the acoustic panels be used outside?

The Acupanel range is designed for interior use only.

What do I do if I have plug sockets, windows or other items to install around?

It is straightforward to adjust the panels to fit around any object. You can cut the slats widthways with a saw, and you can cut the felt lengthways with a sharp blade to then apply around any item you may have on your surface.

On which surfaces can I install the panels?

You can mount the panels on all surfaces including brick, concrete and plasterboard.

Do the colours of the pictures look like the panels in real life?

The wood used is always from the same source so they will always look more or less the same. It is natural wood, however, so knots, slight cracks and colour variations can occur. Get in touch if you would like us to send you pictures of the exact batch you could potentially receive.

How can I hide the edges of the panel?

The panels have been designed to have the edge exposed. When cutting through the slats they are black throughout so an edge will always look like the rest of the panels

Can I hide wires behind the panels?

You certainly can!

Can I apply anything behind the panels to increase sound insulation?

If installing with batons, then you can use mineral wool or other sound insulation material in-between the gaps which will increase the sound absorption properties even more.

Why should I opt for a finished panel?

It is always advised to finish natural wood to protect it and, more importantly, to make it look even better than it already does. We now offer a decorative satin oil-finished panel for our Contemporary Oak and Contemporary Walnut panels, to take out the hassle of finishing the panels yourself. Please note that this is a decorative finish only, providing no protection against heat, water or humidity.

Do you deliver the panels?

We do, and we offer free delivery to mainland UK for the Acupanel range! You are also welcome to collect directly from our warehouse.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused Acupanels within 30 days after delivery.
